Lonely Life

from Ian's Songs - Compilation by Mu Theory

/

about

This song was written by Ian & Tony at the piano with Tony on guitar based initially on some chords Ian liked. Tony later wrote the lyrics and the band (with Ivan on bass) performed it for the first album Until We Lose It. Piano was recorded live on a wonderful 7' Yamaha grand piano at Oaklands Productions.

lyrics

Early to rise early to die
Born into heroin addiction and lies
There’s hurt and there’s pain, canyons of shame
Can’t stand the parents but you love them the same

chorus
--------
How can we celebrate this lonely life?
Want to turn my head and fade away
How can we justify the endless strife?
Violence won’t ever go away, won’t go away

Can’t offer peace can’t offer trust
So hard to get through every day without loss
But I see you care - through cold eyes you stare
Acceptance that your convictions don’t even care
